When it comes to making Muslim travellers feel seen, Thailand continues to lead. One such example is in its airport lounges.
At Suvarnabhumi International Airport, The Coral Finest Business Class Lounge (Departure Gate D1) and The Coral Cosmo Lounge (Departure Gate C) exemplify what inclusive hospitality can look like – with halal-certified meals, designated prayer rooms, and even restful experiences like a complimentary neck-and-shoulder massage and private nap rooms.

On a particularly long layover, we discovered the nap lounge was temporarily closed. But instead of turning us away, the staff kindly opened one of the rooms for us to rest. Alhamdulillah.

At the dining stations, clear signage informs guests that all ingredients used are halal-certified. The food selection is generous and thoughtfully curated, ranging from local Thai favourites (we’re still salivating after the “Sen Mee Gaeng Pu”– vermicelli with crab curry and betel leaves!), to Western classics like pasta, salads and sandwiches, along with Middle Eastern and vegetarian options.
